This is the safari for those wishing to see the raw Africa. While both Amboseli and the Masai Mara sit in the core of Maasai land. The local there are more often than not draped in their conspicuous red and blue Masai-blanket that dot the plains as the herders follow their cattle herds. While all around them are vast herds of potentially dangerous wild animals.

Day 1: Nairobi to Amboseli National Park
Pick up at 08:30hrs for the drive to Amboseli National Park for lunch. Depending on arrival time you may relax at an Amboseli lodge or a game drive and return for dinner and overnight in a lodge of your choice.
Day 2: Amboseli National Park
Early morning game drive before returning to the lodge to relax around the pool, after lunch a siesta then an evening game drive. This allows you to see more game as the animals tend to hide away from the intense heat of the day and are most active during early morning and evenings. Dinner and overnight at your lodge in Amboseli.
Day 3: Lake Nakuru National Park
Early morning departure for a long journey to Lake Nakuru National Park. This park is known as the World’s greatest Bird Spectacle. You expect to see greater and lesser flamingos, waterbucks, buffalos and probably rhinos. Arrive for evening game drive. Dinner and overnight a Lake Nakuru lodge of your choice.
Day 4: Lake Nakuru National Park and Lake Naivasha
Early morning game drive, thereafter leave for Lake Naivasha where you have the option of hiking up Mount Longonot or visiting Hell’s Gate National Park where you hike through the Oljorwa Gorge to see hot water springs and elaborate geographic features visit one of the power generating geysers, a boat ride could be arranged, dinner and overnight at a Lake Naivasha lodge of your choice.
Day 5: Lake Naivasha and Masai Mara National Reserve
Masai Mara is one of the world’s finest wilderness areas – home of the ‘Big Five’ – elephant, rhino, buffalo, leopard and, in particular, the black maned lion – and an extension of the Serengeti plains famous for the spectacle of the annual migration of thousands of wildebeest and zebra from the Serengeti. Short walks in the surrounding area give you a chance to notice all the tiny insects, birds, game and flora you never have the opportunity to see from a vehicle if you opt for camps/lodges that are out of the game reserve.
After early morning game drive return to your hote for breakfast and proceed to the Masai Mara Game Reserve stopping en route for a picnic lunch. After arriving at your campsite you are taken on an afternoon game drive within the vicinity of the hotel. Dinner and overnight in lodge.
Day 6 and 7: Masai Mara National Reserve
On these day you have two options which you discuss with your driver/guide the night before.
Breakfast before heading into the Masai Mara Game Reserve for a day of game viewing. The Mara offers variety and numbers of game unparalleled in any other park in Kenya. A packed lunch will be served on arrival at the hippo pool, in the company of large pods of hippos. Thereafter your route changes arriving at camp in the late afternoon as dusk approaches. Dinner and a chat around the fire before retiring for the night.
Early morning game drive to catch the animals at their most active before the sun heats up the area and they all go into hiding. Returning to the hotel mid morning for breakfast thereafter take guided walks to the surrounding hills your driver guide may have to drive you to the remote Mara surroundings for your walk with your guide or a swim to ward off the heat. Returning in time to go back to the park for evening game drives or a repeat of previous day’s itinerary only on different routes. Return to the lodge for dinner and a chat around the fire before retiring for the night, alternatively a full day game drive with picnic lunch can be arranged discuss options with driver guide night before.
Day 8: Masai Mara National Reserve to Nairobi
Early morning game drive before packing and leaving with a picnic lunch for a leisurely drive back to Nairobi Arriving around 16:00hrs.
